Gunman robs Captain D's in Cahokia

— Police were searching Wednesday or a gunman who robbed the Captain D's restaurant on Camp Jackson Road at closing time Tuesday night.

Police Chief James Jones said the suspect is described as a black male, 5-foot-8, weighing about 160 pounds, and is about 20 years old.

The suspect entered the business at 1512 Camp Jackson Road with his face concealed and armed with a black handgun.

He demanded money and the employees gave him an undisclosed amount of money, Jones said.

The suspect ran away. Police officers started canine tracking which led to a nearby subdivision, but the gunman remains at large Wednesday.

No one was injured in the robbery.
