District 189 decides to push back the start of school

News-DemocratAugust 21, 2013

The start of school for all East St. Louis District 189 students has delayed until Sept. 3, according to the district's website.

The start date has been pushed back due to safety concerns related to the construction at East St. Louis Senior High School.

The delay in the start of school by about two weeks is projected to push back the close of school to June 9 if no school days are cancelled because of bad weather.
