Follow our coverage with the BND iPad app

August 21, 2013

If you are one of the thousands of iPad users who visit bnd.com daily, we have good news for you.

Now you can use our new iPad app to follow our local coverage, which will make your visit to bnd.com much more enjoyable.

You can download the free app by visiting the App Store and searching for Belleville News-Democrat in the search window. The new BND app link will appear, along with the E-BND app. Click on the "free" button beside the BND logo and the installation process will begin.

Our goal with the new app is to continue to bring you the top news report in the metro-east, but in a format that works best with the iPad. We also plan to emphasize our longer form journalism -- from features to investigative work -- and give our great photographs better display, in addition to presenting our regular menu of breaking news and sports.

With the introduction of the iPad app, the BND's local content will be available in an even wider menu of formats, including print, e-edition, desktop, laptop, iPhone and Android apps and our mobile site.

Digital editor Joe Ostermeier is in charge of our iPad app project. He'd love to hear what you think of the new app. Please send your comments or questions to jostermeier@bnd.com or to me at jcouch@bnd.com.

As always, we thank you for reading the BND and visiting bnd.com.

-Jeffry Couch, editor of the BND and bnd.com.
