AMC scientist explains wing-tip vortex creation

Dr. Donald Erbschloe, chief scientist with the Air Mobility Command at Scott Air Force Base, explains how airplane wing-tip vortices are created and how trailing planes can take advantage of the "free lift" the vortices make -- and the subsequent reduction in fuel consumption.
