Bloody fight at Belleville motel lands man in jail

A man was arrested Tuesday night after what police described as a drunken altercation that left the parking lot bloody at the Townhouse Motel.

According to Belleville Police Department Capt. Don Sax, officers were called at just before 7:30 p.m. to the motel at 400 S. Illinois St. Officers found an intoxicated man who was bleeding profusely. It was discovered during the investigation that he had cut himself by punching out a window at the motel.

Sax said the altercation started in a room at the motel and then spilled out into the parking lot.

According to the Belleville Police blotter, Calure Jones, 35, was issued a non traffic citation for criminal damage to property. Michael Bobzin, 32, was arrested on a charge of criminal trespass to property and taken into custody.

Police records do not indicate which person suffered the cuts.
