BELLEVILLE POLICE

WEDNESDAY, AUG. 28

10:20 a.m. Possession of drug paraphernalia -- 700 block of East McKinley. Officers, with the homeowner's permission, searched a residence. Drug paraphernalia was located. A non-traffic citation was signed for possession of drug paraphernalia against the suspect, who was not on scene.

3:35 p.m. Retail theft -- Kmart, 7230 Westfield Plaza. Thomas Mitchell, 20, was arrested for retail theft and taken into custody.

3:42 p.m. Assault, reckless driving, possession of drug paraphernalia -- 100 block of East Main Street. Sydney Schoenborn, 20, was arrested for assault, reckless driving and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was taken into custody.

7:19 p.m. Criminal damage to property -- 500 block of South Charles Street. The victim reported a window to his residence was damaged, possibly by a BB gun.

11:34 p.m. Aggravated assault -- 7700 block of West Main Street. The victim reported he was at the bus stop when a subject approached him, made a racially motivated statement and pointed a pocket knife at him.

THURSDAY, AUG. 29

8:54 a.m. Criminal damage to property -- Alice's Tavern, 230 N. 11th St. A window on the business was damaged.

10:45 a.m. Residential burglary -- 400 block of South 20th Street. The victim reported entry to the residence was gained through a window and property was stolen.

10:53 a.m. Fraud, intimidation -- First block of South 76th Street. The elderly victim reported receiving magazine subscriptions from a company. She stated the company calls her 2-3 times a month asking for a payment of $400-$600. She has told them she does not want the magazine, to which they tell her if she does not pay she will be arrested and taken to jail.

12:18 p.m. Residential burglary -- 8200 block of West Highway 161. The victim reported the side door to his attached garage was pried open and property was stolen.

3:49 p.m. Residential burglary -- 700 block of Freeburg Avenue. The victim reported entry was made through an unlocked door and property was stolen.

4:53 p.m. Attempted burglary to residence -- 100 block of Kansas Avenue. The victim reported entry to his residence was attempted through a rear window.

5:19 p.m. Residential burglary -- First block of West Pheasantwood. The victim reported forced entry to her residence was made through a window and property was stolen.

6:44 p.m. Suspicious incident -- 700 block of West H Street. Four juvenile complainants were walking to Jaycee Park for football practice. They observed a male subject sitting in the pavilion drinking a beer in Pleasant Hill Park. The subject called out to the juveniles and they ignored him. The subject began to follow the juveniles and they ran to a wooded area. The suspect stopped his pursuit and left the area. He was described as a tall white or light-skinned black male, wearing a gray shirt, gray pants and a gray striped hat. Officers searched the area with negative results.

6:50 p.m. Traffic stop, possession of a controlled substance. Springdale at Frank Scott Parkway. The driver/suspect was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and taken into custody.

9:12 p.m. Traffic stop, possession of a controlled substance -- West Washington at South Illinois. The driver/suspect was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and taken into custody.

Friday, Aug. 30

1:21 a.m. Indecent exposure of person, drunkenness -- 300 block of East Main Street. Craig C. Gulash, 28, was arrested for indecent exposure and drunkenness. He was taken into custody.

ST. CLAIR COUNTY FELONIES

WEDNESDAY, AUG. 28

Hassan A. Abrahim, 48, of 18 Sarpy Road, Apt. C, Shiloh, arrested on suspicion of two counts of domestic battery, subsequent on oar about Aug. 25 by Shiloh police. Abrahim allegedly, made physical contact with Eslam H. Abrahim, a family/household member, in that the defendant struck her in the face with his hand and pushed and pushed her down on the bed. Defendant had been previously convicted of Aggravated Domestic Battery on July 18, 2012.

Stacy G. Stevenson, 36, of 5 Keelan, of Fairview Heights, arrested on suspicion of two counts of domestic battery, subsequent offense on or about Aug. 24 by Fairview Heights police. Stevenson allegedly, made physical contact with Aric D. Hunt, a family/household member, in that said defendant grabbed Aric around the neck and bit Aric on the arm. Defendant had been previously convicted of Domestic Battery on Sept. 27, 2002.

Marquis V. Caldwell, 29, of 1718 Market St., Madison, arrested on suspicion of retail theft, subsequent and fleeing and attempting to elude a police officer on or about July 5 by Fairview Heights police. Caldwell allegedly, took merchandise from Circle K. 10070 Bunkum Road, Fairview Heights, being bottles and cans of liquor, total retail value not in excess of $300; while operating a motor vehicle, a green Food, was given a visual signal by a police officer, Jeff Peel, who was in police uniform and driving a vehicle which displayed illuminated, oscillating, rotating or flashing red or blue lights, which when used in conjunction with an audible horn or siren would indicate the vehicle to be an official police vehicle, directing the defendant to bring said green Ford to a stop, willfully fled or attempted to elude the police officer. Defendant had been previously convicted of Retail Theft, Subsequent on June 26, 2012.

Marquis V. Caldwell, 29, of 1718 Market St., Madison, arrested on suspicion of retail theft, subsequent and obstructing identification on or about June 1 by Fairview Heights police. Caldwell allegedly, took merchandise from Old Navy, 8015 N. Illinois St., Fairview Heights, being shirts and shorts, total retail value not in excess of $300; knowingly furnished a false name to Officer Strickland of the Fairview Heights Police Department, a peace officer, who has lawfully arrested said defendant. Defendant had been previously convicted of Retail Theft, Subsequent on June 26, 2012.

Dana S. Holmes, 45, of 310 Selb Ave., 1A, Madison, arrested on suspicion of retail theft, subsequent on or about July 5 by Fairview Heights police. Holmes allegedly, took merchandise from Circle K, 10070 Bunkum Road, Fairview Heights, being bottles and cans of liquor, total retail value not in excess of $300. Defendant had been previously convicted of Theft, Subsequent on Jan. 27, 2000.

THURSDAY, AUG. 29

Paula J. Reed, 21, of 1203 Richard St., Cahokia, arrested on suspicion of three counts of unlawful use of a debit card and theft on or about Aug. 1 by Sauget police. Reed allegedly, with the intent to defraud the issuer, Direct Express Master Card, Commerical Bank, debit card, which was without the cardholder's consent for the purpose of obtaining goods, being U.S. currency, total value not in excess of $300; knowingly exerted unauthorized control over property of Josephine Lipson, being U.S. currency, total value in excess of $500, said offenses constituting a series of acts performed at different times in furtherance of a single intention and design.
