Red Bud couple killed in crash

A Red Bud couple died last week in a traffic crash in Randolph County.

Richard F. Buch, 63, and Connie S. Buch, 67, died Friday after the 2006 Chevrolet Impala driven by Richard Buch failed to stop at a stop sign while headed east on Schuline Road at the Illinois 4 intersection. Richard Buch's Impala hit the passenger side door of a 2002 Dodge Caravan driven by Kenneth R. Dammermann, 50, of Ava, then struck a utility pole.

The crash happened at 1:23 p.m.

Richard Buch and Connie Buch were both pronounced dead at the scene.

Dammermann and a passenger in the Caravan suffered minor injuries in the crash, according to the Illinois State Police. All passengers in both vehicles were wearing seat belts.

Visitation for the Buchs will be held from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Friday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Baldwin. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the church and burial will be at St. John Ev. Lutheran Cemetery in Baldwin.
