Rude customers didn't get away with it

September 4, 2013

I was thrilled to read that the thugs who attacked the waitress in a Fairview Heights restaurant have been rounded up. These "ladies" believed they could get by with their actions because it would be a low priority for the police. I bet they weren't expecting to be caught and charged with mob action, as well as aggravated battery

Thank you to the Fairview Heights Police Department for its persistence, which sends a message that if you visit one of our city's fine establishments, you must behave or you will be afforded a visit to another of our fine institutions: jail. Also thank you to the patrons who recorded the event.

On that note, I would also like to remind residents that Fairview Firefighters and Municipal Law Enforcement (F.A.M.L.E.) recognition night is now held in September instead of June. This event will take place at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 25 in Moody Park and, as always, will honor the firefighters and police officers that serve Fairview Heights. All residents are invited.
