Police search for man who tried to lure metro-east teen into his car

Police are looking for a man who allegedly tried to lure a Brooklyn teenager into a car Tuesday afternoon.

According to police reports, the man followed a 17-year-old Lovejoy School student who was on her way back to school for an extracurricular activity and asked her multiple times to get into his vehicle. He finally drove off when the teenager neared a group of other teenagers.

The incident took place at about 3:20 p.m., police said.

The suspect is described as a bald, white male who was driving a green Ford Crown Victoria sedan that resembled a taxi cab.

Anyone with information about the suspect can reach the Brooklyn Police Department, which is dispatched by the St. Clair County Sheriff's Department, by calling 277-3505.
