Belleville residents encouraged to give input on city plan

Belleville residents will have the chance to help plot the city's future during four open houses scheduled for next week.

The city is updating its comprehensive plan, which maps out future growth and development in Belleville. Residents are encouraged to attend one of the following open houses:

* 5-6 p.m. Tuesday at Althoff Catholic High School, located at 5401 West Main Street;

* 7:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Blessed Sacrament School Gymnasium, located at 8707 West Main Street;

* 5-6 p.m. Thursday at Programs and Services for Older Person's (PSOP) Building, located at 201 N. Church Street; and

* 7:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday at Union United Methodist Church, located at 721 East Main Street.

Kendig Keast Collaborative, a consultant, has been hired by the city to host the open houses. Residents can also participate online through the www.imaginebelleville.com, a website expected to become available on Monday.
