United Way Illinois Division kicks off campaign

The Illinois Division of United Way of Greater St. Louis has officially started its 2013 campaign with a goal of $1.56 million.

The campaign kicked off Thursday at Clinton Hill Golf Course in Swansea. This followed the United Way of Greater St. Louis' campaign, which launched its annual campaign Tuesday and announced its goal is to raise $72.25 million. Last year, United Way of Greater St. Louis raised a little more than $72 million.

The money raised for the local campaign will stay in the 16 Missouri and Illinois places the United Way of Greater St. Louis serves: St. Louis City, St. Louis County, St. Charles, Jefferson, Franklin, Warren, and Lincoln in Missouri; Calhoun, Green, Macoupin, Jersey, Madison, Clinton, St. Clair, Monroe and Randolph in Illinois.
