Belleville comprehensive plan open houses start Tuesday

— The city has scheduled four open houses this week so those who live and work in Belleville could help map out future growth and development in the city.

The city is updating its comprehensive plan in a process that will take up to a year. Community members are encouraged to attend one of the following open houses:

* 5-6 p.m. Tuesday at Althoff Catholic High School, 5401 W. Main St.;

* 7:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Blessed Sacrament School Gymnasium, 8707 W. Main St.;

* 5-6 p.m. Thursday at Programs and Services for Older Person's (PSOP) Building, 201 N. Church St.; and

* 7:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday at Union United Methodist Church, located at 721 E. Main St.

The city has hired consultant group Kendig Keast Collaborative to do the 20-year comprehensive plan and host the open houses.
