Reds, Pirates doing just what one wouldn't expect

The Cubs are doing the Cardinals a favor Tuesday night, beating Cincinnati by six runs midway through their game.

Unfortunately, the Texas Rangers aren't helping out much. They're trailing for the second consecutive night to the Pittsburgh Pirates.

The Reds were hot as a pistol going into their Cubs series while the Wee Bears are plodding toward another lost season. And with former Cardinals hurler Edwin Jackson with his ERA near 5.00, things really weren't looking promising.

Meanwhile, the Rangers were surging before they met a Pirates club just swept by the Cardinals.

I guess that's why they play the games.
