Illinois residents leaving the Cardinals baseball game Friday night may need to find a new way home.
All eastbound lanes of Interstate 64 will be closed between Interstate 55-70 and 25th Street in East St. Louis beginning at 9 p.m. Friday until 9 a.m. Monday, Sept. 23. The shutdown is due to state highway workers repaving the interstate to connect with the new Stan Musial Veterans Memorial Bridge.
Interstate 64 traffic will be detoured eastbound on I-55-70, then southbound on Interstate 255 until connecting to I-64. Motorists are encouraged to find alternate routes or take MetroLink.
Westbound lanes on I-64 will not be affected.
