Putin to the rescue

September 16, 2013

I was very pleased to read Joe Reichert's and Michael Dillier's letters opposing a strike in Syria. The situation has changed with the offer by Russia to take control of the alleged chemical weapons. I believe this shows the uneven foreign policy of this administration and how President Obama has handled this situation. Now we are relying on Russian President Vladimir Putin to pull us out of the fire, but I'll take it for now.

I did err in labeling Dillier as a liberal, but feel free to label me as a conservative. I think it's safe to say neither of us are in lockstep with our political affiliation based on our written opinions. In fact, I wrote House Speaker John Boehner opposing his immediate support of the president's plan to strike Syria without gathering all of the facts and developing a sound strategy.
