Belleville man charged with stealing neighbor's guns

A Belleville man has been charged with felony aggravated possession of stolen firearms.

According to Belleville police, Kenshiro H. Hohm, 19, of 120 Juniper Drive, was arrested Monday and held on $15,000 bail.

Police said Hohm stole a pair of handguns, a .22 caliber handgun and a 9MM pistol from a neighbor's gun safe between Aug. 21 and Aug. 22.

Aggravated possession of stolen firearms is a Class 1 felony if between one and five guns is stolen and under Illinois law is punishable by a sentence of 6-40 years in prison.

Hohn was previously arrested and is awaiting trial in relation to a March 23 incident in which he allegedly damaged an unattended vehicle and failed to notify its owner.
