How is this helping Belleville?

September 20, 2013

Why should I shop in Belleville when the city leaders recklessly use our tax dollars and don't seem to try to help Belleville's financial situation? Example:

* Had Chuck's Tavern closed.

* Paid to have Tribout's move to South Illinois Street.

* Closed Corner Pocket tavern so the Catholic Church could use the property.

* Gave, free of charge, Belleville taxpayer property to Lindenwood University at 2600 W. Main St. to the 29th Street railroad tracks so Lindenwood could do what it does best: blacktop or make ratty-looking gravel parking lots all over the area and have garbage-filled Dumpsters all along alleys that breed flies and smell up the neighborhood.
