Lynx offense cranks out 573 yards in win over Kentucky Wesleyan

Kameron Harris rushed for 207 yards and four touchdowns as the Lindenwood-Belleville Lynx beat the Kentucky Wesleyan Panthers 49-29 Saturday night at Lindenwood Stadium in Belleville.

The Lynx rolled up 573 yards of offense in raising their record to 3-1.

Harris had touchdown runs of 5, 27, 9 and 63 yards. The Althoff High School graduate averaged a 11.5 yards per attempt on his 18 carries.

Lindenwood-Belleville quarterback Kerry Gibson completed 14 of 28 passes for 285 yards and three touchdowns. He was intercepted once.

All-purpose back Jeff Ward had seven catches for 140 yards and a touchdown for the Panthers, who dropped to 0-3.

Ward also had 10 carries for 20 yards and returned a kickoff for a touchdown.

Wesleyan quarterback Dalton Oliver completed 23 of 38 passes for 297 yards and a touchdown. He was sacked six times.

The Panthers took the opening kickoff and moved 64 yards on four plays for a touchdown. Oliver threw a 21-yard pass to Ward to cap the drive.

The Lynx answered with a 68-yard drive that ended with a 5-yard touchdown run by Harris.

Johan Sundberg added the first of seven extra-points to tie it at 7-7.

An 86-yard return for a touchdown by Ward on the ensuing kickoff put the Panthers back in front 14-7.

A 27-yard touchdown run by Harris tied the score at 14-14 with 8:26 left in the first quarter.

A 44-yard pass from Gibson to Dylan Bradley set up an 8-yard touchdown pass from Gibson to Evan McFadden that gave the Lynx a 21-14 lead early in the second quarter.

Matt Blacharczyk recovered a fumble by the Panthers at the Kentucky Wesleyan 9. Harris ran it into the end zone from there as Lindenwood-Belleville increased its lead to 28-14.

Gibson connected twice on touchdown passes to Harvey Binford -- a 65-yarder on the first play from scrimmage in the second half and 29-yarder on a fourth-and-6 play in the third quarter -- as the Lynx padded their advantage to 42-14.

A 1-yard TD run by Oliver got the Panthers within 42-21, but Harris broke loose for a 63-yard touchdown run with 7:20 remaining in the game.

Kentucky Wesleyan's Devin Le'Gall had a 45-yard touchdown run with 1:32 to go to close out the scoring.

Le'Gall finished with 12 carries for 123 yards.
