Quail Club will hold final 3-D bow shoot Sunday

The Quail Club will hold its final 3-D bow shoot for 2013 on Sunday.

It's a realistic bow hunting experience with 40 targets situated in the fields and wooded area on the grounds of the Quail Club in realistic hunting situations.

Registration is from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cost is $5 for Cubs (12 and under), $10 for youth (13-17) and seniors and $12 for adults.

All shoots will be held regardless of the weather. Rangefinders, broadheads and blunts points are not permitted. Cross Bows are allowed in a separate class.

All participants must wear orange.

Plaques will be awarded in all classes: hunters, open, seniors, women, traditional, youth, Cubs and crossbow.

Participants in all four shoots in 2013 will be entered in the the drawing for a $400 gift certificate to Town Hall Archery. The drawing will be held directly after the completion.

The Quail Club will serve free biscuits and gravy and ham and bean soup. Hamburgers, hot dogs, and fries will be available for purchase and there will be a full-service bar.

No alcohol is allowed in hunting areas.

The Quail Club also will hold a chicken and beer dance with a four-gun drawing Saturday. Doors open at 6 p.m. Cactus Moon Band will perform from 7 to 11 p.m. Chicken will be served at 7:30 p.m. Western Attire is welcome. Tickets are $25 per person for the dinner and the drawing.

The guns to be won in the drawing are:

* Winchester Super X Pump 12GA.

* Savage Rifle in Camo w/scope 270 CAL.

* Benelli Super Nova 3", 12GA.

* Mossberg Auto SA20 20GA.

More gun drawings will be available throughout the dance.

Each woman who purchases a dance ticket will be in an additional drawing for a special gun. For tickets, call Dale Ternaprovich at 806-9878.

Directions to the Quail Club: Take Illinois 15 to Frank Scott Parkway, go south on Frank Scott until the four-way stop sign at Concordia Church, turn right onto Concordia Church and go west about 2 miles to the Quail Club.
