Mother Nature cooperating with Cards' playoff schedule

A 30 percent chance of thunderstorms and a high temperature of 84 degrees is in the forecast for Wednesday, with the best chance of rain coming after 1 p.m.

The chance of wet weather will increase during the evening hours when the likelihood of thunderstorms is 40 percent, according to the National Weather Service.

A 40 percent chance of thunderstorms is also predicted for Thursday. But any rough weather is expected to move out of the area before the National League playoff game between the St. Louis Cardinals and Pittsburgh Pirates, scheduled for 4:07 p.m. at Busch Stadium.

The most likely chance for rain Thursday comes before 1 p.m. After that skies are expected to become partly sunny with a high temperature of 84 degrees.

Game 2 for the Cardinals is scheduled for 12:07 p.m. Friday, when skies are expected to be mostly sunny. But a 40 percent chance of rain is forecast for Friday evening.
