EAST ST. LOUIS — East St. Louis police are searching for a man who escaped Wednesday morning while they were attempting to arrest him.
Police were called about 11 a.m. to a house at 18th and State streets about a domestic disturbance. Upon arriving, they arrested a man, but as they were attempting to put into a squad car, he broke free and fled on foot, Assistant Police Chief Ronald Ike said.
At 11:45 a.m., police were still searching for the suspect. No other details were immediately available.
