While reading writer Kevin Gagen's latest ravings about who is responsible for the mess the country is in, I thought he was talking about President Obama. Of course he wasn't; Obama could burn down the White House and be caught with the matches and Gagen would blame it on the Tea Party.
Let's see, Gagen says the Tea Party has been in four years and hasn't brought reform, prosperity or anything positive. Obama has been in almost five years and he hasn't done any of those things either.
What else? Oh yeah, the Tea Party is responsible for the stock market going down, which is bad then it is responsible for the market going up, which is bad. Did I miss something here?
Gee, it sounds like Obama is just sitting on his duff and letting the Tea Party, a minority in the Republican Party, run the country even though the Democrats have a majority in the Senate.
And as far as the Tea Party being well outside the American mainstream, if Gagen would pay attention to the news he might find out that the primary objective of the Tea Party is to kill Obamacare, which is hated by a majority of Americans.
It appears to me that Obama and the Democrats are outside the American mainstream.
