Parts of Collinsville remain under boil order

News-DemocratOctober 17, 2013

A boil order remains in effect for Collinsville residents after a water main break Wednesday.

According to city leaders, residents in the Sugar Load Road area, including the Sugar Bend and Deer Creek Estates subdivisions and the Woodland Trail Mobile Home Park, must boil their water until further notice.

According to the Center For Disease Control and Prevention, when there is a boil order in effect consumers should bring any water they consume to a full, rolling boil for at least one minute to kill any pathogens that may have got into the water system.

But some people say water should be boiled up to five minutes to be on the safe side.
