MONTICELLO, Ark. — Cody Trimble threw three touchdown passes to Jamal Nixon during a 24-point, second-quarterback explosion that carried Arkansas-Monticello Boll Weevils past the Lindenwood-Belleville Lynx 41-27 on Saturday.
For the game, Trimble competed 26 of 39 passes for 290 yards and four touchdowns. Nixon had nine catches for 120 yards and three touchdowns.
The Lynx (3-5) lost their fourth straight game.
Running back Kameron Harris, an Althoff High School graduate, had 20 carries for 180 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Lynx.
Quarterback Anthony Dorsey completed 10 of 28 passes for 129 yards and one touchdown. He was intercepted three times and sacked twice.
The Lynx led 7-3 after a 73-yard touchdown run by Harris with 3:25 left in the first quarter.
The Division II Boll Weevils scored 38 unanswered points to go up 41-7.
Harris had a 25-yard touchdown run in the third quarter and the Lynx scored twice more in the fourth quarter thanks to a 5-yard interception return by Colin Sheehan and a 46-yard pass from Dorsey to Harvey Binford.
Sheehan also registered the lone sack of the game for the Lynx, while Javaughn Tabbs also had an interception.
The Boll Weevils had only slight edge in total yards with 400 to 369 for the Lynx, but they had a big advantage in time of possession.
The Boll Weevils had the ball for 34 1/2 minutes compared to 25 1/2 minutes for the Lynx.
Penalty problems re-emerged for the Lynx, who were flagged 14 time for 120 yards.
Next up for the Lynx is Olivet Nazarene University (1-6) next Saturday in Bourbonnais.
