Police bust marijuana-growing operation near school

News-DemocratOctober 24, 2013

An anonymous tip has led to a large marijuana bust in an Alton neighborhood.

According to police, someone tipped officers about the home in the 3500 block of Coronado Drive near St. Mary's School. When police arrived Wednesday to check it out they found enough evidence to get a search warrant.

Once inside, they found what they called a "sophisticated" drug growing operation and about 70 marijuana plants.

No one has been arrested yet in relation to the pot-growing operation, according to police.
