St. Clair County to hold Clean Slate court

St. Clair County judges as well as the county's circuit clerk, sheriff, state's attorney will be holding a "Clean Slate" community court Nov. 2 in Washington Park.

Citizens with traffic, misdemeanor, ordinance or MetroLink offenses pending against them will have the opportunity to speak with a prosecutor and court clerk regarding outstanding warrants, cases or fines and arrange for final disposition of these cases, which can include new court settings, community service or dismissal.

People with warrants for traffic, misdemeanor, ordinance or MetroLink offenses will not be arrested and warrants will be quashed. This event is not for citizens with federal charges, felonies, child support warrants, domestic violence charges or pending cases filed outside of St. Clair County.

Anyone coming to the event is asked to bring an identification card to speed the process.

The event will be held from 9 a.m. until noon at Avant Elementary School, 1915 N. 55th St.
