I-64 construction paused during World Series weekend

Construction on westbound Interstate 64 from the 25th Street exit to the Interstate 55/70 merge will be suspended through the weekend and resume Tuesday, according to the Illinois Department of Transportation.

On Tuesday, two lanes will be closed from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. from 25th Street to the Interstate 55/70 merge. At 7 p.m., the two right lanes will be closed at the 25th Street exit until 4 a.m. The 25th Street exit ramp will also be closed during that time.

On Wednesday, two lanes from 25th Street to the merge will be closed from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and at 7 p.m., the two left lanes will close at the Baugh Avenue exit. They will remain closed until 4 a.m.

On Thursday and Friday, two lanes from 25th Street to the Interstate 55/70 merge will be closed from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The closures are part of the new Mississippi River Bridge project.
