West, O'Fallon and East St. Louis post football victories

Brian Hill had two long touchdown runs and Darian Pollion added an early 18-yard fumble recovery for another TD as Belleville West knocked off Alton 24-7 Friday in Southwestern Conference football.

Hill had an 83-yard TD run with 4:55 remaining in the opening quarter, then added a 67-yard scoring run late in the third quarter.

Alton (4-5) scored on a 12-yard pass from Lavonte Hobbs to Keshon Johnson.

O'Fallon 63, Granite City 33

O'Fallon moved to 5-4 and nailed down a playoff berth by winning a wild Southwestern Conference game over Granite City.

O'Fallon's Patrick Riley had 17 catches for 166 yards and two TDs while Kentrail Moran ran for 170 yards and three TDs. Granite City's Quinton Jackson finished with six catches and 292 receiving yards rushing and three TDs.

East St. Louis 42, Collinsville 7

Gregory Taylor ran for 146 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries and the East St. Louis Flyers chalked up an SWC win over the Collinsville Kahoks

Jeff Thomas caught a 37-yard TD pass from Dominic Nelson and Treevon Prater returned an interception 43 yards for another TD. Marvin Young added a pair of TD runs for the Flyers.

Freeburg 15, Salem 13

Freeburg (5-4) moved closer to qualifying for the playoffs as the Midgets got a 75-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown from Keegan Baxmeyer with 4:19 remaining and then held off Salem. Salem scored with 47 seconds remaining on a 3-yard touchdown pass from Riley Martin to Evan Maxey, but the 2-point conversion pass failed and Freeburg hung on.

Pinckneyville 21, Dupo 16

Dupo's state playoff hopes were dashed with a nonconference loss on the road to the Pinckneyville Panthers (5-4). Dupo finished 4-5.

Columbia 42, Nashville 14

Brock McGowan threw for three TD passes and ran for another to help the Columbia Eagles improve to 9-0 with a victory over Nashville. The Eagles also got two TD runs from Lou Isringhaus.

Red Bud 46, Sparta 26

Dustin Sauer ran the ball 12 times for 237 yards and four TDs and Red Bud (4-5) racked up 566 yards rushing on 39 carries in a big win over Sparta. Brett Cleveland added 189 yards on 12 carries for the Musketeers while Addison Gunter had 140 yards.
