Area high school marching bands bring home awards

— O'Fallon Township High School took home the first-place trophy for the 5A large school division after winning all the specialty awards at the 37th Annual Panther Marching Band Festival on Saturday at O'Brien Stadium on the campus of Eastern Illinois University.

Belleville East High School finished second in the 5A division, with third place awarded to Edwardsville High School.

O'Fallon won the specialty awards for outstanding color guard/auxiliary, drums, general visual effect and music performance.

Triad High School, of Troy, finished second in the 4A division, taking home the prize for outstanding drums.
