Veterans will be able to access free legal services next week in Madison County in honor of Veterans Day.

The Third Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Committee will provide free 30-minute appointments for specific legal services on two dates: Nov. 12 in the Legal Advice Center at the Madison County Law Library, 155 N. Main St. in Edwardsville, and Nov. 13 at the SWIC Granite City Campus, 4950 Maryville Road.

To make an appointment, veterans should call Jaime at 618-296-4472.

Two legal workshops also will be held next week Nov. 13 at the SWIC Granite City Campus. Tanja Cook, of Leuders, Roberston and Konzen will give a presentation 10:30 to 11 a.m. about civil cases including what they are, pro bono services and what to expect in court. Plus, George Filcoff, a retired judge now of the Callis Law Firm, will speak about family law from 11 to 11:30 a.m.

Those workshops are free and open to all attendees of the Veterans Benefits and Services day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Granite City SWIC campus.
