No licenses for illegals

November 4, 2013

Illinois Senate President John Cullerton's statement, "If you're going to have some undocumented, illegal driver ... run into you, don't you think it would be nice if they had insurance," is the kind of thing I have come to expect from Illinois politicians. I don't want any undocumented, illegal drivers on the road with me. Get them their documents, make them legal, make them pay taxes and make their employers pay taxes on them. This makes more sense than believing that just because they have a shiny new license they will rush out and get insurance.

I know people who are driving today without insurance for some reason or another and nobody checks up on them. Is someone going to check up on these new drivers?

These politicians don't even live in the same universe with the rest of us.
