You can lend a hand to several local charities at the Holiday Preview Metro-East Charity Auction & Dinner at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at Belleville West High School.
For a $20 ticket, you can enjoy food, fruit and cider and bid on a variety of merchandise in silent and oral auctions. The Belleville West Jazz Band will perform.
Participating organizations are BEACON, the Marian Chapter Victorious Missionaries, Mother of God Ministries and Xi Chi of Epsilon Sigma Alpha.

Toast of Marissa
Raise a glass to a day of wine, music, contests and vendors at the Toast of Marissa on Saturday.
The event is from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday on Main Street. It features five Southern Illinois wineries -- Fox Creek Vineyards, The Bluffs Vineyard & Winery, Don Jakob Vineyard and Brewery, Alto Vineyards and Jo-Al Winery.
Early risers can register for the Grape Stomp 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run between 9 and 10 a.m. at the Marissa Firehouse. The 5K starts at 10 a.m.; the Fun Run at 11.
A Grape Stomp Competition is from noon to 1 p.m. They you can get your feet wet when the Grape Stomp opens to the public from 1 to 2 p.m.
There's a cookie contest among local businesses from noon to 3 p.m. and the Gatewa Vintage Racing Association car show from noon to 3 on the Regions Bank parking lot.
The Tailgate Troubadours will provide the music from 1 to 3 in the bandstand, followed by Derek Rutter from 3:30 to 5:30.

Don't forget to duck if you go to the Interpretive Center at Cahokia Mounds State Historic Site near Collinsville on Saturday.
Experts from the World Bird Sanctuary of St. Louis will bring live birds of prey -- including eagles, hawks and falcons -- and will discuss their characteristics, habits and their roles in nature. The highlight of show is when birds fly over the heads of the audience.
The show starts at 2 p.m. at the site off Interstates 55-70 and 255 on Collinsville Road.
A Brewery Collectibles Show and an Antique Bottle and Jar Show will give you more than 230 table of collectibles from dealers across the Midwest to browse through from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Belle-Clair Fairgrounds, 200 South Belt East, in Belleville.
Early admission is $20 at 7 a.m.; public admission is $2 at 9 a.m. Parking is free. There will be a raffle, and food and drinks will be available for purchase.
