Take down the name signs

November 8, 2013

I wish someone would please tell Caseyville Township Clerk David Jacknewitz to discontinue placing bumper stickers in public places.

For one, Jacknewitz is an officer of the court in the capacity of a probation officer, and second he is supposed to represent the public as Caseyville Township clerk. I, like many others I have spoken with, agree he needs to discontinue defacing public property with his bumper stickers.

I have no problem with them on his mailbox and on his vehicle. I do have a problem when I see them on guardrails, bus stop shelters and traffic light standards.

Does Jacknewitz think he is above the law? I wish he would remove his urban blight.
