Fairview Heights man charged with MotoMart robbery

A 24-year-old Fairview Heights man is facing armed robbery charges after he allegedly robbed the MotoMart on Illinois 159 earlier this month.

Jahrastafar J. Farmer, of the 100 block of Palm Drive, was charged Saturday with one count of armed robbery. His bail has been set at $500,000.

Farmer armed with a gun allegedly robbed the MotoMart at 6114 N. Illinois St. at 4:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 2.

The clerk and a customer in the store told police the gunman ordered them to the ground and left through the shop's east entrance. The robber got away with about $200 in cash.
