Help still isn't getting through to Bohol

November 18, 2013

To those who have contacts: We see and hear of help being sent to the Philippines, but from the short e-mail messages I receive daily from Tagbilaran City, Bohol, it is apparent that the aid has not yet arrived. Help has been requested ever since the earthquake hit in October.

Messages have requested help for a month. My contact asks if someone can contact the U.S. Fleet that is in the Philippines area to contact the local authorities on Bohol. My long-time contact says there is no contact with governments. Most of the help has been through Christian churches.

I have seen many planes in front of the TV cameras but have not heard of many people being helped in the Bohol area. My contact is an old Army medic who is doing what he can.

Generators and water are desperately needed. The need for people to physically help is of the utmost importance.
