Illini women's soccer season ends with loss to Boston College

— The fourth NCAA women's soccer tournament Sweet 16 appearance for Illinois ended Sunday with a 4-1 loss to Boston College.

Illinois (11-9-3) had 24 shots to just 13 for Boston College (13-9-1), but Boston College goalkeeper Alex Johnson had nine saves. Sophomore Amy Feher had the Illini's lone goal on a header near the end of the first half.

Johnson had six of her nine saves in the second half.

Three-time Belleville News-Democrat Player of the Year Megan Pawloski finished her career at Illinois with 14 goals and 16 assists. The senior forward had three goals and six assists this season
