Ex-Washington Park official pleads guilty to forging check to buy stove

The former Washington Park public works/streets superintendent has pleaded guilty to forging a village check to buy a stove.

Douglas T. Knowles, 37, admitted he used the check for personal gain when he pled guilty Wednesday to the one-count federal indictment of possessing a forged check.

Knowles is scheduled to be sentenced March 21 in federal court in Southern District of Illinois in East St. Louis.
