Cahokia -- Police were looking for an armed gunman late Tuesday who robbed the clerk at gunpoint at the Titlemax store on Camp Jackson Road.

No one was injured in the robbery, Cahokia Police Chief James Jones said.

Jones and several Cahokia police officers were on scene with their police dogs trying to track the suspect down.

Jones said the robbery occurred at 8 p.m. The suspect was described as 6 feet tall with a slender build. Jones said he was wearing a black hoodie with black pants. There were no injuries. The suspect fled the store on foot with an undetermined amount of money.

Jones said while the dogs and officers were searching the area, they found some of the money that they believe came from the store, which is located at 1301 Camp Jackson Road.

If anyone has any information regarding this crime, Jones urges them to call the Cahokia Police Department at 337-9505 or Crime Stoppers at 1-866-371-TIPS. (This is an anonymous tip line that pays up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest).
