Tigers down Kahoks

Senior point guard Shawn Roundtree tossed in 23 points and Southern Illinois University Carbondale recruit Armon Fletcher had 15 Saturday as Edwardsville handled Collinsville 60-40 on in a Southwestern Conference game.

The win pushed Edwardsville to 5-0 overall as the Tigers opened league play with a win. Collinsville dropped to 3-3 ad 0-1.

Trevor Clay added 12 for Edwardsville while Brett Langely and Jacob Shaffer led Collinsville with eight points each.

Edwardsville led 27-16 at halftime.

Carlyle 56, Lovejoy 50

Carlyle knocked off Lovejoy 56-50 Saturday to claim the championship of the Carlyle Kaskaskian Classic tournament.

The Indians went 3-0 at the tourney, defeating Hillsboro 47-40 earlier Saturday. Matt Hilmes poured in 23 points in that one, the only Carlyle player in double-figure scoring.

Central 44, Triad 30

Sophomore guard Logan Kohrmann scored 20 points and senior guard Jacob Timmermann contributed 10 as the Central Cougars knocked off Triad. Jason Barbour had 11 points for Triad and Noah Moss had nine.
