Christmas in the Park -- 5:30-8:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday through Dec. 21, Charley Brown Park, Old Highway 50, Flora. Featuring horse-drawn carriage rides, Little Toot train rides, Santa Claus at the Santa House, light displays (by participating businesses, churches, organizations, individuals), Gingerbread replicas of the Depot on display. Donations are accepted at gate.

Christmas Lights Wonderland -- 5-9 every evening through Dec. 31, American Farm Heritage Museum, Exit 45 on I-70, Greenville. Admission is free, donations appreciated. Complimentary coffee, cocoa and cookies. Santa will hear Christmas wishes Friday and Saturday nights at the Lil Red Barn. 1800s Christmas at Hill' Fort, a replica of a War of 1812 fort. Features artisans, baked goods, crafters, locally grown items, & unique, boutique gifts & products from our community. Downtown caroling, window decorating contest. "Arrival at Camp River Dubois" -- 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday-Sunday, Lewis and Clark State Historic Site, Interpretive Center, Hartford. Displays of Native American artifacts, frontier medical tools and military weapons to help people today connect to the moment in 1803 when the Lewis and Clark Expedition arrived at its Illinois winter camp. Free, open to public. On Saturday, retired teacher Ron Stellhorn will demonstrate how flax is processed to produce linen. Other exhibitors will be present the entire weekend. The 2nd Regiment U.S. Artillery will be presenting (but not firing) its cannon. Jim Duncan will display firearms carried by soldiers on the expedition and Ken Porter will exhibit frontier artifacts.
