A 21-year-old Belleville man was killed in a traffic crash Friday in Randolph County, according to Illinois State Police.

Myron M. Hughes was pronounced dead at the scene by Randolph County Coroner Randy Dudenbostel.

Hughes was driving a car west on Illinois 154 at Woodcox Road, police said, when he lost control and entered the eastbound lane and collided with a semi-truck traveling eastbound. Hughes was ejected from the vehicle, police said.

The semi-truck was driven by Shawn D. Lever, 41, of St. Louis. Lever was transported to Sparta Community Hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
