Winter Wonderland of Lights -- through Jan. 1, Horner Park, 11113 Widicus Road, Lebanon. Thousands of lights, animated musical displays, life-size nativity, Victorian village. Donations accepted.

Way Of Lights -- through Jan. 3, National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows, Belleville. More than 1 million white lights featured along a 1.5-mile route depicting the Journey to Bethlehem. Camel, donkey, pony rides, petting zoo, kettle corn. Free donations accepted. Carriage ride reservations at 618-397-6700. Children's village, puppet show, souvenir photos, Christmas tree display, community choirs, wreath display, silent auction at Visitors Center. "White Christmas" Sing-Along -- 7 p.m. Friday, Wildey Theatre, downtown Edwardsville. Sing along with the classic Christmas movie "White Christmas," starring Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye and Rosemary Clooney. Tickets: $15 adults; $10 high school students and younger. For $25, guests can also attend a Wildey pre-show Christmas Party with holiday-inspired drinks and hors d'oeuvres. The pre-show party begins at 5:30 p.m. Christmas movie trivia and games begins in the auditorium at 6:30 p.m. Audience members will receive free goodie bags filled with props to use during the movie. Christmas in the Park -- 5:30-8:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Charley Brown Park, Old Highway 50, Flora. Featuring horse-drawn carriage rides, Little Toot train rides, Santa Claus at the Santa House, light displays (by participating businesses, churches, organizations, individuals), Gingerbread replicas of the Depot on display. Donations are accepted at gate.

Christmas Lights Wonderland -- 5-9 every evening through Dec. 31, American Farm Heritage Museum, Exit 45 on I-70, Greenville. Admission is free, donations appreciated. Complimentary coffee, cocoa and cookies. Santa will hear Christmas wishes Friday and Saturday nights at the Lil Red Barn. 1800s Christmas at Hill' Fort, a replica of a War of 1812 fort. Friday through Sunday nights (weather permitting), take a 1 mile train ride around the museum on the American Heritage Railroad's Polar Express. Tickets for train ride: $2 per passenger (3 & up). Swansea Santa House -- 6-8 p.m. today and Friday, 2-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Melvin Price Memorial Park,1500 Caseyville Ave., Swansea. Cost: $5 includes a photo with Santa. Children receive gifts from Santa.

Breakfast with Santa at Dinner Time -- 5-8 p.m. Friday, Eckert's Country Store, 951 S. Greenmount Road, Belleville. Cost: $25 per child; $12 per adult. Meal includes scrambled eggs, bacon, biscuits/sausage gravy. Reservations at 618-233-0513 ext. 3.

Bald Eagle Days at Pere Marquette -- 8:30 a.m. Friday, Pere Marquette State Park, Illinois Route 100, Great River Road, Grafton. A site interpreter will present programs about bald eagles. Christmas Open House -- 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Glen Carbon Heritage Museum, 124 School St., Glen Carbon. See Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus. Period Christmas trees decorating every room. Benefits the Belleville Area Humane Society. $10 donation includes a holiday magnetic frame, which doubles as a 2014 calendar. T-shirts and other gift items will be available for purchase.

Winter Solstice -- 7 a.m. Sunday, Woodhenge, 1 mile west of the Interpretive Center, Cahokia Mounds State Historic Site, Collinsville Road, Collinsville. See dawn break over Woodhenge, a reconstruction of the calendar used when Cahokia Mounds was home to thousands of Native Americans. An archaeologist will explain the discovery, form and function of Woodhenge. No rituals or ceremonies will be performed out of respect for American Indian beliefs and culture. Then, shop for unique Christmas presents at the gift shop which features jewelry, ceramics, sculptures and Eskimo ivory, books, DVDs.
