St. Clair County residents to rally against 'culture of corruption' on Friday

News-DemocratDecember 25, 2013

Advocates pushing for federal and state authorities to investigate the drug-scandal in the St. Clair County Building plan to rally for the second time at the courthouse on Friday.

The rally is the second planned by the group Metro-East Citizens for Social and Economic Progress, which formed out of frustration with a judicial system following the death of St. Clair County Associate Circuit Judge Joe Christ of cocaine overdose and former Circuit Judge Michael Cook's arrest on federal drug and weapons charges.

The rally is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. Friday outside the county building, 10 Public Square in Belleville.
