A new metro-east restaurant features Italian and Mediterranean food.

Paul Batsios has just opened The Olive Branch at 2642 Madison Ave. in Granite City, which is open for breakfast and lunch from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

The Olive Branch on Friday and Saturday serves a breakfast, lunch and dinner menu from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Call618- 451-7000 to find out more.

The Knights of Columbus hall in Fairview Heights is about to undergo further renovation. The lounge at 5420 Old Collinsville Road in Fairview Heights will soon begin remodeling. The hall's banquet room was remodeled and reopened last month. For the past five years, the hall has served chicken dinners on Tuesday nights and fish fries on Friday nights. And finally, Illinois accounting firms of Scheffel & Co. PC and J.W. Boyle & Co. Ltd. have announced a pending merger. The two companies plan to form a Scheffel Boyle. Both have been long established in the greater St. Louis area. The move will solidify Scheffel Boyle as the largest locally owned accounting firm in Southwestern Illinois and one of the largest accounting firms in the St. Louis metropolitan area. Scheffel Boyle will continue to have locations in Belleville, Alton, Edwardsville, Highland, Columbia, Jerseyville and Carrollton.
