— Investigators have identified the victim of a Monday evening shooting in Cahokia.

Allen S. Templeton, 17, of St. Louis, was killed at the Pheasant Hill Mobile Home Park, according to Lt. James Cavins of the Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis.

Cahokia Police Chief James Jones said police received a call just before 7 p.m. Monday of shots fired at the mobile home park.

Police said the victim suffered gunshot wounds to the head and neck.

Police do not yet have a suspect or a motive, Jones said.

St. Clair County Deputy Coroner Dean Darnall said he pronounced Templeton dead at 7:27 p.m. Monday.

Templeton's body was found outside on Circle Creek Drive in the mobile home park.

According to Cavins, investigators do not believe that the people involved in the crime had ties to the neighborhood. But police are continuing Tuesday to canvas the area and they are talking with the family of the victim.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Cahokia police at 337-9505 or CrimeStoppers at 1-866-371-TIPS (8477).
