Wesclin guard breaks scoring record at Pinckneyville tourney

Wesclin senior guard Alex Smith broke the Duster Thomas Hoops Classic Tournament scoring record at Pinckneyville High last week with 82 points in four games.

Smith, a 5-foot-11 guard who made the all-tournament team, averaged 20.5 points at the tournament and was 32-of-59 from the floor. He hit 11 of 20 shots and scored 27 points in a 62-61 loss to Roxana.

Smith is averaging nearly 16 points per game for the Warriors this season.
