Wild New Year's Eve ride: Woman faces charges for DUI, hit and run and resisting arrest

News-DemocratJanuary 3, 2014

An Alton woman has been charged with driving under the influence, hit and run and resisting arrest following a New Year's Eve crash.

According to the Madison County Sheriff's Department, Tamara Thrash, 33, hit a parked car in the 1400 block of Third Street in Cottage Hills and kept on going. When police caught up with her, she allegedly failed field sobriety tests and the deputy said she kicked and shoved him as he tried to place her under arrest.

Because no one was injured, the case did not meet the standards for felony charges. Thrash was jailed on $200 bail.
