— The city of Belleville will reopen its offices Tuesday and trash service will resume for customers who have normal pickup on Wednesday.

Customers who have Monday and Tuesday trash pickup days will have to wait until next week to place their trash outside.

Also, trash crews will not pick up recycling this week and will not pick up yard waste this month.

Belleville Mayor Mark Eckert said city employees are unable to drive trash trucks down some streets and alleys or get to certain bins because of piled up snow.

"If you have additional trash, due to the delayed schedule, place the extra bags next to your trash can and they will be picked up," Eckert said in a Monday news release.

In the meantime, if residents see spilled trash or a serious health concern, the city's Sanitation Department can be reached at 233-6816.
