More closings: Schools opt for another snow day

News-DemocratJanuary 7, 2014

A majority of metro-east school districts announced Tuesday afternoon that schools will be closed again on Wednesday due to hazardous road conditions.

School districts that have called off school Wednesday include: O'Fallon School District 203, O'Fallon School District 90, Shiloh District 85, Freeburg Community High School District 77, Freeburg School District 70, Belleville School District 201, Belleville School District 118, Belle Valley School District 119, Signal Hill District 181, Cahokia School District 187, Edwardsville School District 7 and Collinsville Community Unit School District 10.

However, some private schools will be in class Wednesday including St. Teresa Catholic School in Belleville.

Most schools were scheduled to return to classes on Monday, following the holiday break. But the weekend snowfall and ensuing bitterly cold temperatures have kept students at home instead of in class.

See the attached link for an updating list of school closings and other cancellations.
