Itchy Brother's Wood Carving -- 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Lewis & Clark Confluence Tower, 435 Confluence Tower Drive, Hartford. See Itchy Brothers Chainsaw Art carve a wood sculpture of the area's famous wintering bird: the American Bald Eagle. The woodcarving will be on display through Sunday. The chainsaws will start at 10 a.m. and continue until finished. Free. Admission to tour the Tower is $4 adults, $2 children 12-3, free children 2 and under.

Eagle Meet and Greet -- 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Alton Visitors Center, 200 Piasa St., Alton. Come see live eagle demonstrations by the World Bird Sanctuary. Learn about species and habitats. Eagle viewing and education in this designated Important Birding Area at the Riverlands Migratory Bird Sanctuary. Bald Eagle Days -- 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Pere Marquette State Park, Illinois Route 100, Great River Road, Grafton. Site interpreter will present program on bald eagles. Learn to distinguish between immature and mature bald eagles, what eagles eat, why they spend winter months in the area and much more. All programs at park's visitor center. Reservations required. "Ebony Creations" -- Friday through Feb. 28, Edwardsville Arts Center, Edwardsville High School Campus, 6165 Center Grove Road, Edwardsville. A collaborative effort with the Portfolio Gallery in St. Louis and EAC. Features the work of 30 artists represented by the Portfolio Gallery and will include paintings, photos, textiles and sculpture. Opening reception, 6-8 p.m. Friday, is free and open to public. Refreshments will be provided and entertainment will include Paul Herbert Pitts and Stan Meeks.

Misselhorn 25th Anniversary -- 1-5 p.m. Sunday, Misselhorn Art Gallery, 611 W. Second St., Sparta. The Misselhorn Art Foundation kicks off its 25th anniversary celebration in 2014 with a reception and new exhibition of the late local artist's work. Since Jan. 12 is also Roscoe Misselhorn's birthday, his lifetime dedication to art will be honored with a commemorative lithograph, "The Railroad Ferry," which will be given as a souvenir.
